Use Short URLs to Gain Marketing Insight

What? Take a long link, shorten it down to a few characters, and you’ve got yourself a short URL.

How? Find a free URL forwarding service (Bit.ly and Tiny URL are popular), type or paste a link into a box, and the service will give you a new URL that forwards to the long one.

Why? Three reasons: shorten, track, and manage.

  • Short URLs are useful for sharing links when there are character limits (think mobile and Twitter), when you want an easy way to remember the link (think print ads), or when your long links are just plain unruly!
  • Short URL services provide you with real-time statistics, like number of clicks, referrals, visitors' geography, browsers/mobile usage, and more.
  • By registering, you can usually login to edit or delete a URL, plus access your history, share, and search URLs.

A Better Option
And a little shameless self-promotion! Single Entry Point’s new sep.ME service provides not only the means to shorten long URLs into unique links, but also advanced tracking tools that will help you better understand your marketing efforts.

Protect Your Privacy
Other short URL services share your data. For example, you can get information (traffic, referrers, locations, conversations) about any Bit.ly link by taking the short URL and adding a plus sign (+) at the end!

We believe that your marketing data is your most important asset. Your data is private, and available only to you. We do require registration for this reason – but we think your data is worth it.

Gain the Unfair Competitive Advantage
Classification, segmentation capabilities, and comprehensive statistics are just some of the features that set us apart. Come and learn more.
